Former Pittsburgh Steelers players have made headlines this past week due to what they posted on Twitter. At first, it was former Super Bowl champion Rashard Mendenhall. Now, it is an even more well-known former player who has questionable judgment.
Antonio Brown Separates Athletes by Race
Antonio Brown posted several controversial tweets on Christmas Eve. With these tweets, he has not been afraid to go after some of the biggest names in sports. So, what has he done now?
In an earlier tweet, Brown claimed that he and Michael Jordan were the only African American athletes to go out on top (Brown used other words to describe this). However, one person responded that QB Peyton Manning left the NFL with a Super Bowl win. Brown simply responded with:
“Cracker doe.”
Some tweeters suggested that Brown get help. Others called Brown out for racism. Then, there were some that could not help the current trend that former Pittsburgh Steelers players have with Twitter posts.
Rashard Mendenhall Tweet
Brown is not the only former Steeler to post a racial tweet. Last week, Mendenhall tweeted that the NFL should change the format of their Pro Bowl. He wanted the teams to be divided by race.
As you can imagine that tweet got a lot of attention on social media. Because of this and Brown’s timely tweet, people are now joking that former Pittsburgh Steelers players can’t avoid being racist on Twitter. Admittedly, these were two questionable tweets by two questionable former NFL players at best.
Antonio Brown Twitter Tirade
Antonio Brown is certainly not shy to post whatever is on his mind. However, this is not even the only player he went after today. Earlier this morning, he made several tweets attacking Pro Football Hall of Fame member Michael Irvin. Brown did this in response to Irvin leaving him off of his Mount Rushmore of all-time NFL wide receivers. Now, Twitter anxiously awaits (and maybe cringes) as to what Brown will post next.
