Pittsburgh Steelers The Favorites at -300
Since the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger in 2022, the Steelers have been winning despite their quarterback play. The Steelers selected Kenny Picket in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, hoping he would be the heir apparent to Roethlisberger. Pickett’s first 2 seasons have been riddled with injuries and inconsistent play. The young quarterback posted a mild 13 to 13 touchdown to interception ratio through his first two seasons with the Steelers. Forcing Pittsburgh to question what is best for the team at the quarterback position moving forward.
On Friday Russell Wilson met with the Steelers, however he left without a deal in place. Steelers GM Omar Kahn has given Kenny Pickett his full backing with the media at the 2024 NFL Combine, discussing his excitement for Kenny under new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
“We are excited about Kenny and excited about the impact that Arthur Smith is going to have on the offense and on Kenny,” Khan said.
Las Vegas Raiders Looming at +400
The Las Vegas Raiders have Quarterback issues of their own after quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and the Raider offense were never able to get anything going last season, leading to former Head Coach Josh McDaniels getting fired. The Raiders and new Head Coach Antonio Pierce will have to address the Quarterback position this offseason if they hope to compete in the AFC.
The Raiders currently hold the 13th overall pick in this upcoming draft which appears to be late for a top quarterback prospect, so if the Raiders want to acquire a Quarterback via the draft, they will need to trade up. There hasn’t been much speculation on if the Raiders will be willing to give up the draft capital required to make this move. Making it more likely we see the Raiders searching free agency for their next quarterback.
Wilson does not have a meeting in place with the Raiders at the time of this writing.
New England Patriots Sleeper Team at +900
With Mac Jones likely on his way out of New England, the Patriots will be looking for their next quarterback in the post Tom Brady era. The New England Patriots hold the 3rd overall pick in this upcoming draft. Most believe they will draft a quarterback, however with generational talent Marvin Harrison Jr to likely be on the board, it is not out of the question for the Patriots to pull the trigger on Harrison. If this happened the Patriots would likely turn to free agency to bring in another Quarterback.
It is unclear whether Russell Wilson will have a robust market, but the sportsbooks are pointing at the Pittsburgh Steelers to bring in the former Pro Bowl quarterback.
