The Pittsburgh Steelers offense has struggled mightily with consistency throughout the 2023 season. The worst possible thing to happen when an offense is struggling is an issue at the quarterback position and with the limited talent the Steelers have on that side of the ball, that is especially true for them.
Steelers Quarterback status up in the air
Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett suffered an ankle injury while he was attempting to scramble against the Ariziona Cardinals. In the second quarter, Pickett had his ankle trapped while he was being tackled and was reported questionable by Steelers spokesperson Burt Lauten. Pickett left the field with a limp and was immediately escorted to the blue medical tent.

are this season as he injured his knee against the Houston Texans in Week 4. Pickett went the locker room and is listed as to out. This comes at a poor time for Pickett as he is trying to prove to the Steelers that he is capable of being the Steelers starting quarterback of the future following the teams offensives struggles during his tenure.
Pittsburgh Steelers Backup
Without Pickett, the Steelers will lean on backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky to win a critical game against the Arizona Cardinals. with the playoffs on the line, the Steelers cannot afford many more losses for the rest of the season. Look for the Steelers to throw more short passes and screens given Trubisky’s limited time this season with the first team offense.
The Steelers will also go back to their drawing board and look to lean on their historically powerful running game with running back Najee Harris playing well in recent weeks.
