The Philadelphia Eagles are due somewhat of a pick-me-up after last week’s 23 point loss (42-19) at HOME to last year’s NFC Championship runner-ups, the San Francisco 49ers. And sadly for the Eagles, this week is no layup, as they travel to division foes and long-time rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, coming off their 6th win in 7 games, the only loss being to – well the Eagles – in a closely fought 28-23 game at Lincoln Financial Field.
Now, as the Eagles continue to maneuver rumors of yet another Jalen Hurts injury, compiling on from what has been a nagging knee injury from back in October. However, these ‘Hurts Playing Hurt’ games have not hurt the Philadelphia Eagles’ stature, as they lead the NFC with a 10-2 record, and seem in prime position for the 1 seed in the NFC… if they can beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
One thing the Eagles can certainly rejoice about, as the holidays near – and have even started for some, is the return of one of their key players on offense – of which there seems to be dozens in fairness, and one who can be a difference maker in projected to be close games like this one – per Ian Rapoport.

What Does This Mean For The Philadelphia Eagles’ Offense?
The Eagles’ offense does not run around Dallas Goedert the way it does someone like AJ Brown. However, top tight ends, like Goedert, are still increasingly undervalued commodities, especially against a Dallas Cowboys secondary that boasts former DPOY, Stephon Gilmore, and history maker + rising start, DaRond Bland.
And against a Dallas offense that has been firing on all cylinders – averaging a whopping 42 points across their current 4 game win streak – this Philadelphia offense may indeed need to be able to go into a shootout. Doing so with your best tight end, especially as their best option after Goedert is Jack Stoll – certainly will make Nick Sirianni and the rest of the Eagles coaching staff sleep better this weekend.
This also has a knock on effect for free agent signings. After taking in Shaquille Leonard, many believed that the Eagles was an ideal landing spot for recently released, and former Eagle – Zach Ertz. Yet, now, with Goedert back, it looks like there is a different NFC contender eyeing the Super Bowl champion.
Regardless, this is clearly excellent news for the Eagles, and should make Sunday’s game even more exciting. The Cowboys are currently 3.5 point favorites.
