The Philadelphia Eagles are amid a rare two-game stretch, getting blown out twice while showing little excitement on offense or defense. However, Eagles corner Darius Slay believes that Philadelphia fans should steer clear of himself when looking to point blame for the team’s recent struggles. Slay took to his podcast (Big Play Slay Podcast) on Friday to clear the air about specifically labeled trash cans outside the NovaCare Complex, the practice facility of the Philadephia Eagles.
Slay addresses the trash can protest: “C’mon now. Yall know I’m a big time troll, I love to have fun. I don’t take it personally at all. I think it was a good joke. But I had a very very solid game.. Out of all days to put the trash can out there, when I had damn near a perfect… pic.twitter.com/CkGN1ypR48

The trash cans in question read “No Play Slay” and “Bradberry,” clearly referencing the secondary duo of Darius Slay and James Bradberry. The Eagles have surrendered 585 passing yards and six scores to start December.

“C’mon now. Y’all know I’m a big-time troll; I love to have fun. I don’t take it personally at all. I think it was a good joke. But I had a very, very solid game… Out of all days to put the trash can out there when I had damn near a perfect game, of course, I coulda made more plays. But overall, the game was great by me, but as a team, we ain’t played worth a s**t,” said Darius Slay on the Big Play Slay Podcast on Friday.
Slay referenced his play on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys as confusion as to why Philadelphia Eagles fans are targeting him during the team’s struggles. Slay had four tackles and three passes defended in his team’s Week 14 loss against the Cowboys. However, Eagles fans quickly questioned Slay’s comments, specifically the lack of leadership displayed on Friday.

What about on the 1st drive? It was 3rd down. Slay was 1 on 1. His man was set in motion. Slay lost him. He took the sweep around the corner and took off up the sidelines for 30 yards. Slay lollygagged across the field. He could have stopped him sooner. They scored on that drive.

caring about personal stats narratives while not following the WR1 all game & a loss is weird 🥳

And he’s back to his personal accomplishments while his defense has allowed 75 points in the last 2 weeks. Get this dude out of Philly next season I BEG.

Philadelphia: Amid Tough Two-Game Skid
The Eagles, last season’s winner of the NFC, have lost both their games to start the month of December. The Eagles have been outscored 75 to 32 over that span and are fresh off a 33-13 road loss to rival Dallas. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 271 yards and two scores in the win, while Tony Pollard and Rico Dowdle combined for 105 rushing yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, quarterback Jalen Hurts was held scoreless for the first time this season. He finished with 197 passing yards and just 30 yards rushing. Hurts has since been leapfrogged by Prescott regarding MVP odds.
