The Philadelphia Eagles suffered an embarrassing 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in last night’s wild card game. There is no doubt that this is a disappointment to Eagles fans and members of the organization. The team started 10-1 this season before losing six of their final seven games. Plus, the Eagles were NFC champions last season.
Now, their season is over. Before the Eagles’ coaching staff could leave the field of Raymond James Stadium and enter the locker room, one Eagles fan made his feelings known towards head coach Nick Sirianni.
Philadelphia Eagles Fan Throws Popcorn at Nick Sirianni
One viral video captured a Philadelphia Eagles fan attempting to throw a bucket of popcorn at Nick Sirianni. The Eagles head coach was walking towards the locker room when this attack took place. As the fan threw the bucket, he taunted Sirianni saying this:
“You’re done Nick! You’re done! You’re f*cking done Nick!”
To add insult to injury, the fan attempted to leave Raymond James Stadium shortly after throwing the bucket of popcorn towards Sirianni. However, Buccaneers security staff had other ideas. One member of the security staff could be heard saying “No, you ain’t leaving nowhere. Get your a** over here.”
Despite an attempt to leave the stadium, the fan was eventually apprehended by security. Still, the fan touched on a looming subject during this attack. That subject is the status of Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni.
Will Nick Sirianni be Fired?
It is hard to believe that this question is even being discussed just one year after the Eagles appeared in a Super Bowl. Yet, the collapse the Eagles suffered this season is hard to ignore. On top of this, future Hall of Famer Jason Kelce has likely played his final game in the NFL.
There were earlier reports that Sirianni’s job could be on the line. Plus, star WR A.J. Brown has had public drama with the organization as well.
The Eagles fell just short of a Super Bowl title last season. At that time, it looked like Philadelphia was going to have a bright future. It is amazing how quickly things can change in the NFL. All of this is to say no matter which direction the Eagles go; it is looking like it will be a long road back to the promised land.
