The Philadelphia Eagles may have escaped with a hard-fought 34-28 victory in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, but there’s no denying that there was a bit of frustration on the sidelines amongst the defending NFC champs.
At one point in the contest, wide receiver A.J. Brown was seen having an animated discussion on the bench with quarterback Jalen Hurts. The conversation got so intense that coach Nick Siriani had to intervene. It was an unpleasant scene for Eagles fans, to say the least.
Philadelphia Eagles Stars Have Heated Discussion Vs. Vikings
In the video below, Brown is seen passionately explaining something to his quarterback during what looked like an uncomfortable situation between the pair. Coach Siriani had to step in as Hurts moved away, and it seemed like the Philadelphia shot-caller was trying to appease a heated Brown:

Both Hurts and Siriani played down the incident after the game, saying that it was nothing more than a heat-of-the-moment type of discussion. Brown, however, did not speak to the media, thereby fueling rumors about some harbored ill will.
A.J. Brown Addresses Rumored Beef With Jalen Hurts
As it turns out, this is not the case for the Eagles WR. Brown broke his silence about the incident on Thursday as he finally addressed the matter in front of the press:
“The sideline discussion, I want you all to know that’s what it was, a discussion,” Brown said, via Martin Frank of USA TODAY. “It’s a game that we both love and I want everybody to understand that sometimes emotions are high and that’s kind of what happened. That doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. That doesn’t mean I’m beefing with Jalen.
“And no, it was not about targets. I’m sure everybody thought that because he threw me the ball three times in a row afterwards. But no, I was not over there discussing targets. It was about something that happened earlier and we were having a discussion about it.
To be fair, AJ Brown did admit that he was emotional at that point in time, which is what led to the heated discussion. The two-time Pro Bowler also made it clear, however, that it had nothing to do with a lack of targets from Hurts. Most importantly, Brown cleared the air about any lingering beef between himself and his QB.
“I know everybody took that out of context, but it’s not a big deal. Me and him are still on the same page, we’re still trying to grow, be great, and get wins most importantly.”
There’s no better way for Brown and Hurts to silence the haters than by flexing their connection in their Week 3 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday. After all, as they always say, a win always fixes everything.
