Patrick Queen knows a thing or two about the bitterness of the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens rivalry but will find himself in unfamiliar territory when the two teams meet Sunday afternoon.
Queen had one of the most prolific seasons of his career in 2023, when he was named a Second-Team All-Pro selection for the first time in his career, with the Baltimore Ravens.
However, Queen will be lining up against Baltimore on Sunday afternoon as a stalwart contributor along the Pittsburgh Steelers’ front seven, a move that he says took quite some time to get over.
According to Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Queen revealed to reporters that the Ravens never offered him a contract. He said it took him until August or September to completely get over that. He has not spoken to John Harbaugh or Eric DeCosta since signing with the Steelers.
The Steelers inked Queen to a three-year contract worth $41 million contract prior to this season, ensuring that he’ll get to chances to take on the Ravens per season as long as he’s in a Steelers uniform.
Sunday, it will be fascinating to see how any interactions play out between Queen and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh before, during, or after the game.
It isn’t like Queen needs much more motivation, especially entering Sunday with 62 total tackles as he looks to take down his former team for the first time.
