Miami Dolphins starting left guard Isaiah Wynn suffered a torn quadriceps against the Philadelphia Eagles during Week 7 of the 2023 season. The quadriceps injury would sideline him for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign. Despite missing the rest of 2023, the Dolphins signed Wynn to a one-year contract during the offseason.
He hasn’t played a single game this season because he’s still recovering from last year’s injury.
The Miami Dolphins placed their IOL on the reserve/PUP list ahead of the season

Isaiah Wynn did not practice during the offseason, including OTAs, mandatory minicamp, and training camp. As a result, the Dolphins placed Wynn on the reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the roster cutdown deadline. Since then, he has remained on the PUP list and hasn’t participated in a game, let alone a practice.
The good news is he is inching closer to a return.
He had his practice window opened

According to head coach Mike McDaniel, via Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, the Miami Dolphins have designated Isaiah Wynn for return from the PUP list, effectively opening his 21-day practice window, and will practice today. The Dolphins have 21 days to activate Wynn to the active roster. If they choose not to activate him in that timeframe, he will be relegated to season-ending injured reserve.

Mike McDaniel is excited to have him return to practice but doesn’t commit to him playing this week against the Las Vegas Raiders

“First and foremost, he’s been on his road to recovery for an extended period of time, but hasn’t lost his place amongst the team in terms of his leadership,” McDaniel said. “I mean, everybody knows how hard he’s been working because you see when you’re here and really happy that he’s been able to work through the stuff. I think it’s a great example of who he is as a person to diligently work for however long it’s been and excited to see him back out there and get his first rep here today and we’ll see where that goes from there.”
