The 4-5 Seattle Seahawks, coming off a much-needed BYE, will travel to Santa Clara to play against the 5-4 San Francisco 49ers in a crucial divisional matchup. The BYE couldn’t have come at a better time because injuries have impacted the offense and defense alike. Earlier today, the team made several roster moves involving the offensive line, as one player gets placed on IR while the other gets activated.

For the second time this season, the Seahawks have placed George Fant on injured reserve. After missing Week 2 and spending Weeks 3-8 on IR with a knee injury, the team activated Fant for Week 9, but his return to the starting lineup didn’t last long. He suffered a knee injury on their 17th snap and will sit out for at least four games.

On X, the Seattle Seahawks announced the activation of Abraham Lucas (knee) off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. The Seahawks designated Lucas for return from the PUP list and opened his practice window three weeks ago. Today marks the last day for the Seahawks to activate him before reverting him to season-ending injured reserve.

Will he play this week?
Abraham Lucas’ availability for Week 11 is up in the air since it’s too early in the week. However, head coach Mike Macdonald said it’s a realistic expectation for him to play against the San Francisco 49ers.
“Abe practiced today and San Francisco is a realistic expectation at this point,” Macdonald said.
“I think that the best version of Abe is going to give us the best version of our offensive line, so we want to make sure that he’s ready to go. But from what I saw today, he looked really good, looked good last week, and there’s a timeline here that we’re kind of abiding by and there’s certain milestones and hurdles you need to cross in order for him to play his best ball. So hopefully that’s this week.”
The first step was for Lucas to practice. Check. The second step was to be activated. Check. The final step is to play.
