The Utah football season has not gone the way many thought after they dropped their fifth straight loss on the year with their 22-21 defeat against BYU this past weekend.

The Utes were favored in the preseason to win the Big 12 in their first year in the conference and have a Bye in the first round of the college football playoffs, but with three games left in the season, they are still playing for bowl eligibility.

Before Utah’s big matchup with Colorado this weekend, the program received news that one of their running backs will be sitting out the season and entering the transfer portal.

Third-year running back Jaylon Glover took to social media and posted a letter to the fans announcing his entry into the portal.

Glover has only appeared in three games this season, rushing for 60 yards on 12 attempts, but had a nice solid career with the Utes, rushing for 982 yards and six scores in 25 games played.

Utah probably didn’t think it would ever get to this point in their program, with three games left in the season and players already giving up and leaving, but that happens when you have a losing record and no hope for the playoffs.

The Utes were supposed to come into an easy Big 12 and run away with the conference, but the exact opposite happened, and now let’s see if they can fix things in 2025.
