Omar Khan talks about his first draft
The Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly missed the playoffs in 2022. They’re hoping they can progress in quarterback Kenny Pickett’s second season in the NFL. Second-year general manager Omar Khan is preparing for his first draft in April. He hinted at his plans for the Steelers next month at the League Annual Meeting.

After a lukewarm record last season, the Steelers are set to draft in the middle of the pack this year. The Steelers own the 17th overall pick in the draft. According to the Steelers’ website, Khan said that was subject to change:
“This is a really good draft and I’m very fortunate that my first draft is really good,” Khan said. “So I love the idea of having a lot of picks, but you know, all options are on the table. Obviously there’s an opportunity to trade up to get a player that we think that’s an impact player and can help us right away, or be a good long-time Steeler, we’re going to evaluate it, but all options are on the table.”
The Steelers added some big defensive names and linemen on both sides of the ball in free agency this offseason. They could add some offensive weapons for Pickett in the draft.
