Incoming Ole Miss Rebels recruit wide receiver Noreel White was arrested Sunday, according to Tyler Komis of Inside the Rebels.
Noreel White is a freshman with the Ole Miss Rebels, and he was charged with “reckless driving” as well as “simple possession of marijuana.” White has been active on social media within the last 24 hours, meaning he likely found a way to meet the $1,000 bond for each of the two charges.
Ole Miss Rebels recruit Noreel White isn’t the first Ole Miss player to get into trouble this offseason
Ole Miss Rebels linebacker Suntarine Perkins was charged with a DUI along with careless driving in late February, according to the Lafayette County Sherriff’s Office.
Perkins was a freshman in 2023 who came into the Ole Miss Rebels defense as a five-star recruit out of Raleigh, Miss. He was the No. 1 overall player from Mississippi in Lane Kiffin’s 2023 class.
Perkins, who played in every game for the Rebels in 2023, had 3.5 sacks and 38 tackles on his way to helping Ole Miss to an 11-win season.
Perkins is now joined by another Mississippi native in Noreel White as Ole Miss Rebels who have gotten into legal trouble this offseason.
Ole Miss Rebels recruit Noreel White could’ve made an impact in a loaded WR room
Ole Miss Rebels recruit Noreel White, who was an early enrollee, was joining one of the most loaded wide receiver rooms in the country in 2024. On top of the already present Tre Harris, White will be joined in the WR room by transfers Juice Wells and Deion Smith.
Noreel White, should he be able to stick around, will be able to learn from some of the top wide receivers in the country as a young contributor.
White was the No. 11 prospect out of Mississippi as a four-star recruit. He had 610 receiving yards and six touchdowns as a senior as well as 36 tackles as a defensive back on the other side of the ball. In an article from The Spun, national recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna explained the versatility of White.
“A true position versatile offensive weapon, White best projects as a slot receiver at the next level with the ability to also play on the perimeter if needed,” national recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna wrote in his scouting report. “Possessing a strong frame with a knack for run after catch playmaking, the Mississippi native projects as a Power Five multi-year starter with the ability to contribute early at the next level due to his offensive versatility and excellent feel for the game. Also adds value on special teams in the return game.”
The Ole Miss Rebels have yet to address the arrest of White.
