The Oklahoma football program can put another notch in its belt when producing NFL megastars. Although Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb is already an NFL star, he concluded his 2023 regular season with another stellar game. Lamb snagged 13 receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s finale against the Washington Commanders, closing the door on a historic regular season. Lamb finishes the year with the Cowboys’ record for receptions and receiving yards while closing in on another record regarding games with consecutive touchdown receptions.
What an incredible regular season for CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb played for the Oklahoma football program from 2017 to 2019. He recorded 173 receptions, 3,292 yards, and 32 receiving scores in Norman. He also ran nine times for 20 yards and a touchdown in his last year with the Sooners.
Oklahoma Football Legend CeeDee Lamb: Historic Season with Dallas Cowboys
Lamb finishes the season with a Cowboys record of 135 receptions and 1,749 receiving yards. The previous record holder in both departments was NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irving. The Dallas legend finished the 1995 season with 111 catches and 1,603 yards. The Cowboys won the Super Bowl that season, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lamb scored for the ninth straight game in Week 18, the longest stretch since 2012. Seven-time Pro-Bowler A.J. Green scored in nine consecutive games with the Cincinnati Bengals that season.
Dallas selected Lamb with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. Lamb earned All-American honors during his time with the Oklahoma football program, with two 1,000-yard seasons. He dominated in 2019 as Jalen Hurts’ top option, snagging 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. He posted four catches for 119 yards in the Sooners’ 63-28 loss to the LSU Tigers in the College Football Playoff.
Dallas Cowboys: Headed to Postseason for Third Straight Season
The Dallas Cowboys will host the Green Bay Packers in the first round of this season’s playoffs. With Sunday’s win over the Washington Commanders, the Cowboys locked themselves into the second overall seed in the NFC. Dallas has a home-field advantage until the NFC Championship but could host a third consecutive game if the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers become an early exit.
The Cowboys are 1-2 in the playoffs under head coach Mike McCarthy. The former Packers bench boss took over in 2020, two years after his last season in Wisconsin.
