The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off of their first loss of the season after the New York Jets took them down at home. However, they’ll be looking to bounce back from that as they welcome the Miami Dolphins who are coming off of an impressive comeback win against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Both teams stand at 5-1 and this is probably going to be the matchup football fans will want to watch this week.
Eagles / Dolphins Predictions
The Miami Dolphins offense has been lights out this season, ranking first in total offense, passing offense, rushing offense and total scoring. Head coach Mike McDaniel has commanded his team well and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has flashy, speedy players that are able to beat the defense deep, taking plays to the end, but they’re always looking for open looks in short passes, as we’ve seen Tagovailoa do frequently with Tyreek Hill. Miami is averaging 499 yards per game, second highest in NFL history through just six games.
The Eagles defense might struggle with getting past Miami’s offense, but Philly has also had an explosive offense behind QB Jalen Hurts. Too many mistakes, bad decisions, dropped balls have hurt the Eagles when it comes to their passing game, but with them facing an opponent like the Dolphins, I’m sure they’ve been working hard to clean up their act and get right. The Eagles’ defense currently is ranked second in the NFL against the run, allowing 65.8 yards per game.
Hurts is looking to make a comeback from what arguably was his worst performance of the season. The QB completed 28 of 45 passes for 280 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions, one of which had let to the Jets scoring their game-winning touchdown.
