Unless you live under a rock, then you know the New York Jets lost their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles in week one. Reports the following day confirmed that Rodgers would indeed miss the rest of this season. However, a new rumor is going around the NFL world that if the Jets make the postseason, we could see the veteran quarterback make a return in 2023.

Aaron Rodgers’ Quick Road to Recovery

Rodgers suffered his injury on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills. As of Thursday, September 14th, just two days after the injury occurred, Rodgers has already gotten the surgery he needed to start the road to recovery. Multiple NFL circles think that getting the surgery this early on was to see if he could make a comeback to the Jets if they make the playoffs. If this ends up happening, it would be one of the greatest comeback stories of all time.

    From the Man Himself

Aaron Rodgers recently went on The Pat McAfee Show, breaking his silence on the devastating injury. Rodgers, to all the viewers, had this to say about his situation: “I think what I’d like to say is give me the doubts, give me the timetables, give me all the things that you think can, should, or will happen because all I need is that extra one percent of inspiration. That’s all I need. Give me your prognostications, and then watch what I do.”

    “Anything is Possible”

Further into the show, Rodgers explains the research he has done to get the quickest and best rehab possible to come back at 100%. He also hinted at the fact his timetable for recovery may be sooner than everyone may think. Pat McAfee then asks the burning question, “Are you coming back for the playoffs this year?” Rodgers then responds with, “I’m not gonna make any of those statements. I don’t feel like that’s fair to myself… As Kevin Garnett said, ‘Anything is possible!'”

    Outlook

If Aaron Rodgers makes an incredible recovery, and the New York Jets make the playoffs, it seems that it is very possible that we can see the veteran play again in 2023. If Zach Wilson does not play at a high level in the regular season, do not be surprised if Rodgers announces that he will be back! This would certainly bring a new fire to the Jets, as they hope to cement themselves as Super Bowl contenders.
