As the AFC Championship is less than 24 hours away, the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs have both released their full injury reports for the game. The Ravens will be have their eye on five players with great news coming in the last few days, while the Chiefs have quite significant injuries to their offense. The game begins at 3:00 PM ET on Sunday, January 28 in M&T Stadium.
AFC Championship: Baltimore Ravens Injuries
The Ravens have a few considerable injuries heading into the game, but great news this week on some of their best players. Linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips injured his shoulder and is doubtful to play, while wide receiver Tylan Wallace and cornerback Rock Ya-Sin are both questionable to be in this game.
The good news for the Ravens is that elite corner Marlon Humphrey was a full participant at practice ahead of the game, and although he listed as questionable, it has been reported that he is expected to play against the Chiefs. Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews status is still unknown to a certain degree as he was taken off the IR in preparation for the game. All signs are pointing to the elite tight end coming back to the lineup for this game as well.
Kansas City Chiefs Injuries
The Chiefs have a lot more injuries than the Ravens on the injury report and a few of them could be incredibly costly in this game. Specifically, the team will be without their best guard in Joe Thuney, who has been ruled out for the game. In addition both Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore will not be playing which will make Travis Kelce and Rasheed Rice absolutely crucial to the offensive production.
Isiah Pacheco is a huge name for the Chiefs injury report as he is listed as questionable ahead of the huge game, however he has been reported likely to play as the team will need him for their rushing production and he has been able to log practices leading up to the game. Defensive Tackle Derrick Nnadi and offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho have both been ruled out for the game and safety Mike Edwards is questionable to play coming off of a concussion.
Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. Is questionable to play the game, and guard Trey Smith, backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert and cornerback Trent McDuffie are all still unknown as to whether they will be able to suit up for the game. Although there are some key injuries this game is set to be one of the best we have seen all year with a matchup of MVPs and ferocious defenses.
