The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play their first road playoff game in the Patrick Mahomes era today against the Buffalo Bills. There is a report now though that if the Chiefs lose this game it may be future Hall of Fame tight End Travis Kelce’s final game in the NFL. He may retire following this year after a legendary career.
It was reported earlier in the post season that Travis’s brother Jason Kelce is going to retire this off season, and now there are reports coming out that Travis may want to retire with his brother together. They would probably both be first ballot Hall of Famers and go into the Hall together as brothers, something that has never happened before in NFL history.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce May Call It A Career After This Season
Travis Kelce has had quite the special career n the NFL and will go down as one of the best to ever do it at the tight end position. It is being reported by Michelle Tafoya though, that Kelce will call it a career after the season and retire with his brother this off season. It was reported that Kelce is focused on other things at this point in time in his career and will look to work on the podcast with his brother Jason Kelce and other business ventures.
There must be a reason that this is being reported now right before their huge divisional matchup with the Buffalo Bills, because if they lose this game many are going to question whether or not Travis will be back with the team next season. For these reports to come out now makes things very interesting going into their first away game in the post season since Patrick Mahomes has been with the team.
Will Travis And Jason Kelce Retire Together
There have already been many reports of Jason Kelce considering retirement after the Philadelphia Eagles lost last week and entered their off season. Travis commented on these reports saying that he knows Jason still has some football left in the tank but if he were to retire he would be one of the top centers to ever play the game. Now the attention has shifted to Travis as these reports have come out now that he is going to retire following this season as well.
It would be appropriate for the brothers to retire together and enter the Hall of Fame together as well. While there have been brothers to both play in the NFL at the same time, both Travis and Jason are arguably the best at their position to ever do it and it would be a beautiful moment for them and for the NFL history for them to retire together.

Kansas City Chiefs Vs. Buffalo Bills
While all these reports are coming out, Travis is preparing for a huge divisional matchup against the Bills, a team they are very familiar with. They had a controversial ending in their regular season game when one of the best plays of the season was taking back for an offside call. Travis made a pitch back to Kadarius Toney for a touchdown that was taken off the board. Patrick Mahomes complained to Josh Allen following the game so there will be no love lost in this playoff battle of top teams.
Travis will be locked in for this game as they will need him to be playing well if they want to go into Buffalo and win this one. He is definitely not thinking about retirement right now, but if they were to lose this game he will for sure be questioned about whether or not he will be back for next year. The fact that these reports are coming out right before their big game makes you wonder if this is the final season of the legendary tight end.
