One of the best, if not the best, NFL defensive player in history Aaron Donald revealed recently that there was one quarterback that he specifically hated the most over any others. It should come as no surprise that Donald was not a fan at all of Tom Brady during his playing career.
Aaron Donald Reveals He Hated Tom Brady

Brady was hated by many defenders in the NFL, as most defenses did not get the best of him while he was playing. Donald is no exception, as the hatred apparently started when the New England Patriots beat his Los Angeles Rams 13-3, in a Super Bowl to forget. That brought Brady to a record 6 Super Bowls and was his last victory with the Patriots.
While fans quickly forget about the Super Bowl, as it was completely dominated by both defenses, Donald did not forget the pain and bitterness he felt from falling to Brady. Thankfully, Donald would go on to win a Super Bowl for himself in 2022, but even still, he hated Brady for years after losing to him in 2019.
“That broke my heart, I ain’t gonna lie,” Donald said, (first transcribed by RamsWire). “Losing that Super Bowl was like, I ain’t gonna lie, I was down for like two months. I hated Tom Brady for like three years after that. I ain’t gonna lie, I was mad.”
It seems that once Donald was able to conquer the NFL and win a Super Bowl himself, that then the hate he had for Brady went away a little. But for those three years in between, Donald admitted that he absolutely hated the legendary quarterback.
That Super Bowl was tied at 3 points heading into the fourth quarter, and then Brady finally figured it out to close the Rams out with ten unanswered points to end the game. Brady however, was not major factor in the game, and that was arguably his worst preforming Super Bowl in any win or loss for the great quarterback.

Nfl Super Bowl 56 Los Angeles Rams Vs Cincinnati Bengals Feb 13 2022 Albert Cesare 5923
Brady finished the game with 262 passing yards, 0 touchdowns, and an interception. The Rams defense clearly did their job in taking down Brady and The Patriots, but the offense just couldn’t make anything happen against the Patriots elite defense. Bill Belichick and the teams defense had an all time performance in that Super Bowl only letting up 3 points to the leagues best offense of all time in points scored per game.
Thankfully for Donald and NFL fans that he was able to won his own Super Bowl over the Cincinnati Bengals, and that seemed to ease a bit of the pain and hate he felt towards Brady for taking a Super Bowl away from him.
Donald and Brady are the two best defensive and offensive players of that era respectively, and they will both find themselves in the Hall of Fame as soon as possible. It was incredible for NFL fans to get to see both of these legends in the same era, and it is only proper that there was some hate between them while they were playing.
