The New York Jets are slated to have one of the best offenses in the league with Aaron Rodgers under center. Reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson is expected to have a productive season but the team is a little thin at wide receiver behind him. Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are nice pieces but that doesn’t do much for depth. The Jets hosted workouts for a trio of wide receivers one of them being former Pro Bowl wide receiver Kenny Golladay.
Jets worked out three wide receivers today: Kenny Golladay, James Proche and Jeff Smith.

New York Jets Work Out Kenny Golladay
Golladay had a career year with the Lions in his third NFL season. He reeled in 65 catches for 1,190 yards and a league-leading 11 touchdown receptions which led him to get a huge contract from the New York Giants. It was all downhill from there. Between injury issues and disgruntlement with the team, Golladay never was able to connect with the Giants. The Jets are hoping that Golladay can recapture some of his magic from that one season. Lazard and Mecole Hardman go into week 1 with injury questions so the Jets may need to sign someone to take some pressure off Wilson.
Reason To Worry?
If you are looking at signing Golladay, that is a red flag for me. There is no disputing Wilson’s talent but it cannot all be one guy. If something happens to Wilson, this receiver’s room is in dire straits. Rodgers has been known to make mediocre receivers into stars due to his throwing ability but last year we saw some of that slip a little with the Packers. If the Jets offense starts to sputter, 2023 could look a lot more like 2022.
The New York Jets haven’t officially signed Kenny Golladay. This is most likely a backup plan if the week goes on and the injuries have not gotten better. This will be something to watch as the Monday night matchup with the Bills gets closer.
