The New York Jets are hoping to get Aaron Rodgers back and fully healthy for the 2024 season. As free agency has been going on there has been a controversy brewing about whether or not Rodgers has a “wish list” of free agents that he wants the team to sign.
Aaron Rodgers Names Free Agents That He Wants New York Jets To Sign
One thing that Aaron Rodgers made clear ahead of free agency is that he was hoping the team would bring back their elite kicker Greg Zuerlein and punter Thomas Morstead for 2024. During a recent appearance on the “Keep Hammering Collective” podcast, Rodgers gushed about their special teamers saying they are real “weapons for us.”
Now Rodgers has gotten what he wanted. The Jets resigned Zuerlein earlier this week and on Wednesday the team brought back Morstead as well.
“Cats out of the bag!” Morstead wrote on X/Twitter about his contract news.
While these guys are not the splash that fans may have wanted the team to make, Rodgers must certainly be happy that the team is listening to literally all of his wants.
Thomas Morstead Is Happy To Be Back
Morstead was candid about his desire to stay with the team and Rodgers was not the only player that wanted him back. After signing Morstead revealed his feelings on staying with the team and with Rodgers saying:
“I’ve really appreciated my time here. I know that the expectations and the results didn’t line up with what we hoped would be this season, but it’s been a great experience for me,” Morstead said after the season ended. “From coaches, teammates, everybody in the building and the organization, the fans, it’s been a great season. Personally, I’ve just felt loved and appreciated and respected. I can’t ask for more.”
We will see how many more players the New York Jets bring in for Rodgers. These two gentleman they brought back was more obvious than simply just doing it for Rodgers, but the Jets still need to beef up their Oline if they want Rodgers to be upright all season.
