The New York Jets are prepared to fix one major mistake from the 2023 season–the offensive line. Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury on his first drive with the team. If he hadn’t torn his Achilles in Week 1, it’s double the Jets offensive line could haven’t kept him healthy through Week 18.
The New York Jets have three starters to find for the offensive line
Jets general manager Joe Douglas said at the NFL Combine that the team was prepared to sign three new starters this offseason. They’re set to sign one of them on Wednesday.
The Jets signed John Simpson
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Jets agreed to terms with former Las Vegas Raiders 2020 fourth-round pick John Simpson.
Help for Aaron Rodgers: Veteran OL John Simpson is signing with the #Jets on a two-year deal worth up to $18 million, per his agent @KyleStrongin with @RangeSportsRMP.

Simpson gave up only one sack for the 2023 season
The Raiders released Simpson during the 2022 season. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens practice squad in December of that season. Simpson gave up just one sack in all 644 pass-blocking snaps from the 2023 season. Pro Football Focus gave Simpson a 56.5 grade for his overall plan last season.
