Earlier in the free agency period there was a New Orleans Saints report by Jeff Duncan that said Michael Thomas would be cut this off season. Thomas put Duncan on blast and trashed him on social media for making things up. But as of Tuesday, it turns out that Duncan was right. The team has reported now that they will cut Michael Thomas this off season.
New Orleans Saints Set To Cut Michael Thomas
According to multiple reports now, Michael Thomas is no longer on the team’s roster. He will not be a Saint in 2024. He will look to find a new team and should not struggle too much in finding potential suitors.
“Mike Thomas is no longer under contract with the Saints, per source. He is now officially a free agent. A formality since his deal was only really for one year, but that formality is now official,” Saints insider Nick Underhill said.
It turned out that Duncan’s report was true and Thomas was set to be cut weeks ago. Thomas was one of the bets in the league when he had Drew Brees throwing him the football but he has not managed to get that spark back since suffering many injuries the past few seasons. Either way there should definitely still be a team that would jump at him with the right contract.
Michael Thomas Goes Out With A Bang
Thomas did not just go after Jeff Duncan on his social media rants. After he went off at Duncan he turned his focus to the Saints head coach Dennis Allen taking a few shots at him as well.
“It’s because we not yes man so we cancers but under a winning coach we are looked at differently,” Thomas replied to a tweet saying the Saints were looking to justify releasing him. “It’s a mentality that makes loser’s uncomfortable because they use to losing all they career.”
Thomas had a steep fall in his time with the New Orleans Saints, going from one of the best in business to never even talked about. Thomas should be very motivated to prove himself again on his next team.
