The NFL off season is in full swing as many top players have been cut ahead of free agency. Earlier on Thursday, New Orleans Saints reporter Jeff Duncan said that Michael Thomas will be released by the team ahead of next season. Duncan reported it as matter of “if, not when” the Saints will move on from their receiver, and Thomas took to social media to absolutely shred Duncan for this report.
Michael Thomas Absolutely Shreds Jeff Duncan
According to Thomas, he will not be getting released by the team, but rather his contract is set to void this offseason and he will either look for a new team or restructure his contract with the Saints. Thomas quickly took to X to rip Duncan for the report.
“Jeff Duncan funny how they planning on releasing me if I was on a 1 year deal,” Thomas wrote. “Don’t fall for it he the same dude that tried to be my friend in season after saying I wasn’t the same player in training camp.”
This tweet was just the start of a larger rant Thomas laid down on the reporter.
“Trying to stay relevant so let’s speak on it,” the former All-Pro continued. “The Saints leak information to him to try to ruin players value but see I’m not broke so I can speak on it. He is broke so he need clicks. Go look at all his articles that never end up being true.”
Will Michael Thomas Have new Team After NFL Free Agency
Thomas went on a long rant attacking the reporter for writing click bait articles on him for some time now, and he finished his rant with posting a picture of Duncan with a caption that read:
“Look at this y’all think he know ball yeah right. Y’all really clicking links to what he write.”
While according to Thomas he is not getting cut by the team, it is possible that he will be on a new team for the 2024 season. Injuries have been a real issue for the receiver the past few seasons after recording the most catches in a single season ever. Thomas could be looking for a new team next season and should have many suitors. While he may no longer be a legitimate #1 receiver for a contending team, he could certainly be a outstanding second or third option for many teams going for a Super Bowl.
