Welcome to the fifth installment of the best acquisition series. This series reviews each division’s best acquisition from the 2023 offseason. We will review the NFC East.
Criteria for this series
All individuals featured in this series must fulfill the specified criteria. The players on this list are those who joined a new team through trades or signings in the offseason, excluding draft picks, re-signed players, players claimed during roster cuts, regular season signings, or trades during the NFL Trade Deadline.
Note: Several teams lack a definitive player to be considered the best offseason acquisition. Teams without a definitive player are in italics.

Philadelphia Eagles’ best offseason acquisition: RB D’Andre Swift
Philadelphia traded a 2025 fourth-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick to Detroit in exchange for a 2023 seventh-round pick and D’Andre Swift. Philadelphia traded for Swift, expecting him to be their number-one running back and be a reliable replacement for Miles Sanders.
Swift played well, recording 1,049 yards on 229 attempts and five touchdowns. He also has 39 receptions on 49 targets for 214 yards and one touchdown.
Swift made it to his first Pro Bowl and will be an unrestricted free agent.
