The New York Jets Are Not Playoff Bound Let Alone Super Bowl Contenders

The New York Jets are not a playoff team in 2024 through 4 weeks, and that is highly doubtful to change. While Aaron Rodgers has looked at times like his old self, they are not a good team, and that is unlikely to change as the weeks go by. They have to think about seeking into the playoffs let alone thinking they are contenders to even win a playoff game.

They lost brutally in a 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos, who are not going to sniff the playoffs themselves, and their quarterback looked extremely frustrated at many points throughout the game. Now reports are coming out that their quarterback and head coach Robert Saleh have some ‘issues’ to say the least.

While we are only 4 games into the season, the Jets will need to pull off some miracles to be an above .500 team.

The Jets and Rodgers have played one good game against the New England Patriots, not a playoff team, and have otherwise looked like one of the worst team’s in the league themselves. If not for a couple of plays they would have lost to the Tennesee Titans, not a playoff team, and would be 1-3 through four weeks of football.

This whole season has been riddled with distractions from training camp and Hasson Reddick, to on-field strangeness after touchdowns. During their loss to Denver, former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason was seeing a lot of trouble between the head coach and quarterback. He thinks that Aaron has some ‘major issues’ with his head coach:

“I try to watch to see if I see any interactions on the sideline or anything — nothing. Nothing. I see a guy walking right past that other guy. I can”t imagine that,” Esiason said on his WFAN radio show.

“Now, I remember those days, because I had those days, with two coaches in particular, and it was because I didn’t trust the guy,” Boomer continued. “I didn’t like the guy. I didn’t know what he was doing and it pissed me off.”

“If you read my body language back in those days, with those teams that I was on, you could tell that I was pissed off,” Esiason admitted. “And when I see Aaron Rodgers on the sideline and I see him after the game in the postgame press conference.”

Then Rodgers took to the podium and directly argued what Salah had said after the game, which led to Boomer going all in on his theory:

“Both will deny it. I guarantee it. But there is an issue there. It’s because you have this 40-year-old Hall of Fame quarterback to-be, dealing with a coach that I think he doesn’t respect.”

New York Jets Schedule Shows They Are Done

    Denver Broncos Cleveland Browns
East Rutherford, NJ — September 29 — The Denver defense celebrated a sack of Aaron Rodgers of the Jets in the fourth quarter as the Denver Broncos edged the New York Jets 10-9 at MetLife Stadium.

Through 4 weeks of the season, we know that the Jets can lose to anybody, maybe besides the Patriots. Their schedule is about to get very tough moving forward:

What is really worse for them, is that they will play Miami much later on in the year, and with Tua Tagovailoa back under center, New York should be favored to lose both games. Outside of New England, there is no free win for the Jets for the rest of the season, and they are not a good team by every metric you can take.

Those that thought the Jets were contenders need to go way back to the drawing board. This team has a chance to get into the postseason, but they will not win the division and could wind up third place in their division.

Sadly, a top quarterback of all time Rodgers will end his career in such a way, but this is the Jets franchise. We look around at other previous Jet quarterbacks who are flying high, while Rodgers is now the man in New York.

Anything is possible in the NFL, supposedly, but the Jets will need to turn things around immediately as they will face 4 very good teams in the next 5 games.

They will never win as long as they play in Giant stadium and not their own house.
