The New York Jets have had issues at the quarterback position since veteran Aaron Rodgers went down for the season in the first game of the year with a torn Achilles. Since then, it has been Zach Wilson as the starter, and he has not performed well at all for his offense. Head coach Robert Saleh seems to have had enough of Wilson under center, as he has decided to start another quarterback for their next matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

New York Jets Quarterback Issues
Quarterback Tim Boyle will be getting the start for the team this week, putting Wilson on the bench. Boyle has been Wilson’s backup throughout the 2023 season, but he got some playing time in last week’s blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills after Wilson had a horrendous outing. The team is taking the chance on Boyle to deliver them a win against their divisional rivals next week.
Wilson has not had a good season this year, only throwing for 1,944 yards, six touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He had one touchdown in the game on Sunday against Buffalo, which was the first he threw since October 29 against the New York Giants. He has not thrown for 300 yards in a single game this season and only has one game with more than one touchdown pass.
Tim Boyle Career
Boyle has moved around the league since joining in 2019. He started his career with the Green Bay Packers, went to the Detroit Lions in 2021, the Chicago Bears in 2022, and is now with the Jets in 2023. He has amounted to just 607 passing yards, three touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He will most likely be no better than Wilson, but Saleh is ready to take a chance on someone else for now.
New York is now 4-6 on the year and is in third place in the AFC East division. They will play host to the Dolphins in week 12 where Boyle will get his first start of the season. The Jets are heavily favored to lose this matchup, but we have seen crazier things happen on NFL Sunday.
