The New York Jets are re-signing tight end Kenny Yeboah in an attempt to add depth to the offense and help quarterback Aaron Rodgers, according to Peter Schrager of Fox Sports.
Kenny Yeboah came into the league in 2021 after an impactful college career with the Ole Miss Rebels and the Temple Owls. He wasn’t able to contribute to the offense much last year, but he might see an increased role with the departure of fellow tight end C.J. Uzomah.
Kenny Yeboah has had limited chances with the New York Jets
During Kenny Yeboah’s three years with the New York Jets, he hasn’t had much of an opportunity to prove himself on the field.
Yeboah has played in just 14 games on offense in those three years, and five of those games came in 2023. He did not play on offense in 2022, but he did play 10 games on special teams.
During those 14 games, Yeboah has amassed just four receptions and 64 yards receiving. He has yet to score a touchdown in his NFL career. Yeboah’s lack of offensive production leaves many New York Jets fans uninspired with his re-signing.

Young tight end Kenny Yeboah revels in the fact that he gets to play with Aaron Rodgers on the New York Jets
Kenny Yeboah, who is still just 25-years-old, said in an article from The Morning Call that playing with a player as experienced as Rodgers is like having another coach on the field.
“It’s my third year and it’s really cool to see the excitement,” Yeboah said. “We’ve got Aaron Rodgers now and it’s like having a second head coach on the field. He knows a lot and I’m just going to keep trying to learn a lot from him and doing what I can to get on the field and produce.”
Yeboah was an undrafted free agent who spent some time on the Jets practice squad before being elevated to the 53-man roster. Yeboah said in the same Morning Call article that he understands how fickle a job in the NFL is.
“Every year is a battle; you can never get too complacent,” he said. “Even if you’re a starter the year before, it doesn’t promise you a spot the next year. They’re always bringing in people to replace you. So, you’ve got to keep grinding and know what you want and what you’re doing it for. You’ve got to have that pride.”
