If you are a fan of the New York Jets, this season went off the rails fast and is viewed as a massive disappointment. With all the excitement surrounding the offseason and acquiring quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the sky was the limit.
However, they are 6-10 after Week 17’s loss to the Cleveland Browns but there have been some bright spots such as second-year wide receiver Garrett Wilson. He became the first wide receiver in New York Jets franchise history to record 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons.
Special.

In a season full of disappointment, it is shocking to see how great Garrett Wilson has done with the 31st-ranked passing offense. So far this season, he has 93 receptions on 163 targets for 1,008 yards (10.8 yards per catch) with three touchdown catches.
While the excitement was to see if Garrett Wilson could become the next Davante Adams with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the football, with the quarterback carousel that the New York Jets had, he definitely has shown to be a top receiver in the league.
What should the New York Jets do in the offseason to make the playoffs?
The New York Jets are in a position to look towards the future as a lot of things need to change. With coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas having job security for the 2024 season as they are blaming the Rodgers injury as the reason this was a lost season.
However, a blessing in disguise is the fact they are able to keep their first-round pick, which is currently eighth overall. The Jets need to get some offensive line help as they are likely moving on from offensive tackle Mekhi Becton. Signing two or three offensive linemen in free agency is a great move for Douglas.
The next move should be to add a second wide receiver to pair with Garrett Wilson. They can draft Malik Nabers or tight end Brock Bowers at this spot and that would add another threat to keep defenses guessing. If the team is going to trade Zach Wilson as reports have stated, this would be a chance to get a second or a third-round pick for a team believing in his upside.
