Brown has played just two games for New York this season. He has dealt with a shoulder and hip injury this year.
New York Jets OT Duane Brown: Injury Plagued Past Two Seasons
Brown signed a two-year, $22 million contract with the Jets in 2022, one season removed from making the Pro Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks. However, he played just 12 games during his inaugural season with New York. He has already missed eight games this season with a shoulder and hip issue.
Brown, the 26th overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft, spent his first nine seasons with the Houston Texans, earning two All-Pro nods and three Pro Bowl appearances. The Texans traded Brown to the Seahawks in 2017, where he made another two Pro Bowls and the All-Pro team in 2018.
New York Jets: Offensive Lineman Struggling with Health
Duane Brown is not the only New York Jets offensive lineman to go down with an injury this season. His replacement, Billy Turner, missed two games this season with a fractured finger. Fellow starting lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker has played just five games this season, while interior options Connor McGovern and Wes Schweitzer have joined him on the IR. Meanwhile, tackle Mekhi Becton suffered a low-grade ankle sprain in his team’s 16-12 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders last Sunday. The New York Jets have struggled with injuries elsewhere, losing former MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles during the season’s first game.
