New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a scary neck injury in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Jones was ruled out of the game which the Giants lost 31-16 dropping them to a 1-4 record. It was revealed today that New York is optimistic that Jones will be able to play in the week six matchup against the Buffalo Bills despite the injury. Of course, they are being very cautious about his return and recovery process.
Giants’ HC Brian Daboll told reporters that the team is “optimistic” about Daniel Jones being able to play Sunday night vs. Buffalo despite his neck injury.

New York Giants’ Struggles
Daniel Jones and the Giants have struggled immensely to start the 2023 season, especially on offense. Jones has been sacked 28 times already this year which is by far the most in the National Football League. It seems that the quarterback does not have more than two seconds to get the ball out to his receivers, which has caused him to only throw for 884 yards and two touchdowns this season. Jones has also thrown a whopping six interceptions which has been his main struggle in 2023.
These statistics have angered Giants fans especially since they paid Daniel Jones a massive amount of money during the offseason. Another reason the quarterback is having a rough season is his offensive line. They have allowed Jones to be sacked 17 times in the last seven quarters, which has caused him to be unable to find his receivers downfield.
Daniel Jones Injury
New York has already been without their star running back Saquon Barkley since week two against the Arizona Cardinals when he suffered a high ankle sprain. If both Jones and Barkley are out next week, it will be a disaster of a game for the Giants as they play the dominant Buffalo Bills.
New York is looking for answers all around, but the main issues stay on the offensive side of the ball. If they want to be a contender for a postseason birth this year, something has to change for them quickly. This injury is an ongoing situation and will be updated throughout the week as Jones tries to recover in time to play in week six.
