The New York Giants have been trying to fix its football team through the draft under general manager Joe Schoen. When Dave Gettleman was the previous general manager, his drafting record was horrendous. Gettleman set up this franchise several years back.
Saquon Barkley, a former second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft is no longer with the team. He signed as a free agent this summer. During the 2019 NFL Draft, the New York Giants had three first-round picks. Gettleman drafted Daniel Jones sixth overall from Duke and he has been a mediocre quarterback at best.

The only home run he hit on was Dexter Lawrence out of Clemson in the 2019 NFL Draft. Gettleman also drafted cornerback DeAndre Baker in that draft out of Georgia and he was a total bust. It has been different with rookies contributing for the New York Giants as of late when Schoen drafts players.

It is not a shock that Nabers was listed by Pro Football Focus as the top rookie to watch out for on the New York Giants roster this season. Some people thought that he could have been the top wide receiver off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft. Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State was the fourth-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
Jim Wyman and Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus said about the 2023 all-first team SEC player being a rookie to watch for in the NFL this season:
“Nabers, a first-rounder out of LSU, is the Giants’ most talented receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. He led all FBS wide receivers in overall grade in 2023 and is dangerous outside or in the slot. He’s the perfect chess piece for Brian Daboll’s offense. The Giants just need to find out whether Daniel Jones or someone else will be throwing to Nabers long term.”
Malik Nabers a season ago as a junior with the LSU Tigers caught 89 passes for 1,569 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns. He averaged 17.6 yards per catch. Nabers has a chance to win the Offensive Rookie Of the Year Award right away.

Nabers is the best receiver they have had in some time. He will be the top receiving option on the roster. Darius Slayton, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Jalin Hyatt will also be in the rotation at wide receiver this season.
