New York Giants: Malik Nabers Impresses During Thursday’s Practice

New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was on the practice field on Thursday. He is already starting to turn heads in camp. There were various times when he lined up against top cornerback Deonte Banks on Thursday. There were also a lot of videos shown of Nabers making plays against Banks in camp on Thursday.

There will be many times this season when Deonte Banks will face the top wide receiver on the other teams and when Nabers will face the top cornerback on other teams. This will be good practice for both of them.

As they say: iron sharpens iron.  Banks is the number one cornerback on the Giants and he had a very good rookie year last year.

New York Giants Made the Right Pick Selecting Malik Nabers

There is no question that the Giants made the right decision in selecting Nabers in the 2024 NFL Draft. He is a much better player for the long haul than quarterback J.J. McCarthy is going to be. He appears to be a player who is going to turn heads this season. Wide receivers coach Mike Groh liked him more than Marvin Harrison Jr. and Rome Odunze. Opposing cornerbacks are going to have nightmares going up against Nabers.

Whether or not Daniel Jones works out this season, at least he will have Nabers to bail him out for the time being. There was another video that was revealed on Thursday of him making plays during Giants camp:

This was a slant route against Jordan Hawkins. There will be times this season when the Giants will try to line up Nabers against a weaker cornerback. Head coach Brian Daboll and wide receiver Malik Nabers have similar personalities. His presence is going to make the wide receiver room better. It will help Wan’Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, and Darius Slayton.

Will New York want to have him play any snaps in preseason games? That is something they are going to have to decide because he will be the top wide receiver in this offense. Nabers could be the best offensive player on the Giants as a rookie. This is not going to be the last time this training camp he is shown making plays. There will be many more times he makes plays and many fantasy football owners will want him on their team this season.
