New York Giants Trade Rumors
The NFL trade deadline is quickly approaching and there is a massive amount of rumors and speculations circling the football world about various star players. The Giants have been a team brought up frequently in these rumors mostly regarding star running back Saquon Barkley. However, the team shut down these speculations rather quickly as many teams were ready to capitalize if the opportunity presented itself.
Although the team is not moving on from Barkley, they are still looking into possibly dealing away one of their few star players. Defensive lineman Leonard Williams has been a name brought up that the Giants could trade before the deadline. However, New York would have to get a draft pick that is high enough if they were to trade him away.
Leonard Williams
So far this season, Williams has amounted to 20 total tackles and 1.5 sacks with the Giants. In his nine-year career in the league, he has been with the New York Jets from 2015-2019 before joining the Giants in 2019. He has recorded 469 total tackles and 39.5 sacks in his decorated career.
The Giants are off to a disappointing 2-5 record to start the first seven weeks of the 2023 season after making the playoffs a year ago. If they plan to turn things around, the team should certainly look to trade away some older players to try and get some good draft picks and young players with potential.
