The New York Giants fanbase had every right to be frustrated with the offense during the 17-7 loss at home on Sunday night football against the Cincinnati Bengals. Daniel Jones is 1-14 in his career in primetime games and he is in his sixth season in the NFL.
Many people even wonder why he is still a starting quarterback in the NFL. The Bengals defense has struggled all season long and Jones made Cincinnati’s defense look good once again. Daniel Jones completed 22-of-41 passes for 205 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. He rushed for 56 yards on 11 carries and zero touchdowns.
New York Giants Have Had Enough Of Quarterback Daniel Jones And Want Him Benched
On Sunday night, the Giants fanbase has had enough of Jones being the starting quarterback for this team. The Giants and the Bengals are both 2-4 this season. Some people feel like if they had Tyrod Taylor instead of Daniel Jones they would be 4-2 this season. New York is only a quarterback away from being a very good football team. Here is what the fanbase had to say on Twitter:
Time to bench Daniel Jones before he gets hurt & his injury guarantee kicks in. We’re not going anywhere, time to call it a season #Giants

@Giants bench Daniel Jones. Prove to the fan base that you’re actually trying to win. Playing DJ proves you’re not trying.

Bench Daniel Jones right now and save the season.

The season is over at 2-4
It is time to bench Daniel Jones— I was misquoted in my autobiography (@RealDavidRyan) October 14, 2024
The Giants season feels over because they are 2-4 and Jones is the fourth-best quarterback in the NFC East. Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders, Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys are all better than him. When New York has the worst quarterback in the division, it doesn’t go well for them.
Amazingly, the Giants are in games with a bottom-five quarterback in the league. This is a testament to how great of a head coach Brian Daboll truly is. Just wait until he finally can draft his quarterback and watch this offense take off.
Philadelphia Eagles Next Week
The Eagles will face the Giants next week at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, but Philadelphia is beatable. They are 3-2 this season. New York is 0-2 this season in the division. If they were to lose this game, they drop to 2-5 on the year and 0-3 in the division.
At that point, it is worth having the conversation if Jones should take another snap with the team. Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito need to be ready to play at some point this season also.
