The Philadelphia Eagles‘ offense is struggling.
Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith and Co. found it difficult to get things moving against the Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns’ defense, ultimately surviving with a 20-16 win.
However, All-Pro offensive tackle Lane Johnson isn’t relieved, even with the victory, based on what Philadelphia’s offense has shown so far this season.
“We’re a constipated offense,” Johnson said, via Dave Zangaro of NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com. “That’s what it F—ing feels like. . . . We’re definitely frustrated. We have a lot of ability, a lot of talent and we are making games more competitive than they need to be. It’s something that we’ve got to fix. As far as talent-wise, this is one of the more loaded offenses I’ve been a part of but we still have to go prove it.”
Through the season’s first six weeks, the Eagles’ offense ranks 10th in total offense, while averaging 366.8 yards per game, but, Philadelphia’s 21.2 points per game average ranks just 18th in the league.
Johnson and the Eagles have a get-right game ahead, against the NFC East rival New York Giants, who managed just seven points Sunday night against the Porous Cincinnati Bengals, to try to turn the tide of their output on offense this season.
