The New York Giants had a rough 2023 season. Finishing with a record of just 6-11 was disappointing considering their expectations. However, one thing has made Giants fans feel better.
That is Kadarius Toney. There is no love lost between Toney and Giants fans. Find out their reaction to Toney’s latest comments.
Kadarius Toney Wants the Ball
In an interview during Super Bowl week, Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney was asked if he was a #1 WR in the NFL. This is what Toney had to say:
“Yeah, if I get it. If I get the ball, yeah.” -Kadarius Toney
Kadarius Toney and the New York Giants
Toney started his career with the New York Giants. However, he was traded to the Chiefs in the middle of the 2022 season. At the time, this worked out for the best for Toney, because he helped lead the Chiefs to a Super Bowl title.
Considering he was drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Giants; it was disappointing that Toney did not have a larger impact on the team. This is especially the case because the Giants have struggled with the WR position for years. However, that alone is not the issue.
Ever since Toney left the Giants, he has talked badly about the franchise. As a result, it has created animosity between Toney and Giants fans. This is his latest comment about the situation after his latest Instagram live:
“I never attacked the Chiefs. I was referring to Giants fans.” -Kadarius Toney
Fans React
A lot of fans had something to say about Toney’s latest comment. Most found the comment laughable and decided to have a little fun with him. Here are some of the most notable reactions from fans:
“If you get the ball? Bro you gotta catch it first.”
“I think he meant if he actually catches the ball.”
“You get it and then you drop it is the problem champ.”
“Wait til he finds out he has to catch the ball in order to get it.”
“Seems like bro doesn’t understand QBs prefer to throw to WRs that don’t drop the ball.”
We will have to see if Toney will be active for the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. Super Bowl LVIII takes place on Sunday, February 11th, at 6:30 p.m. EST at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.
