The New York Giants are 2-9 this season after losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-7 on Sunday afternoon. What will make matters worse for the Giants is that they have a short week and will face the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving on the road.
General manager Joe Schoen for now has a vote of confidence from owner John Mara, but it appears a lot has changed since the Sunday night football game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams. Schoen has received a lot of heat from the Giants fanbase.
New York Giants General Manager Joe Schoen Should Regret Letting Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney Walk
When the Giants game ended on Sunday, New York was already having a bad day before the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles took the field. Xavier McKinney recorded his seventh interception of the season against the San Francisco 49ers. McKinney was a star player that the Giants didn’t re-sign this offseason.
They also didn’t re-sign Saquon Barkley this offseason. Barkley rushed for 255 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns and also had four receptions for 47 yards receiving in a 37-20 win for the Eagles over the Los Angeles Rams. This season, Barkley has rushed for 1,392 yards and has a chance to rush for 2,000 yards.
He has a case for Offensive Player of the Year and also MVP. New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen letting these two players out the door alone should get him fired.
Giants Fans Want Schoen Gone
Joe Schoen doesn’t deserve to be a GM, let alone the GM of a franchise like the Giants
John Mara needs to respect his own organization

Remember #Giants GM Joe Schoen called Saquon on the phone like he was washed and told him they were going in a different direction. The man is ballin for the #Eagles pic.twitter.com/Y0UlKfC5r0

Joe Schoen is, without question, the worst GM in NFL history. Not only has he reduced the Giants to the worst team in the NFC, but he’s also somehow turned their archrivals the Eagles into Super Bowl contenders—His job is literally to do the exact opposite. The Giants aren’t just… pic.twitter.com/RMAr7kFC31

I am ready to move on from Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen.
But I am not ready to watch John Mara screw up yet another GM/coach hire. pic.twitter.com/3nYLYTdvGJ

At this point, I have ZERO faith in Joe Schoen or Brian Daboll.
At least if you fire both of them, you can turn the page, and a new regime will get to pick THEIR QB instead of inheriting a previous player.

No Giants fan trusts Joe Schoen anymore as the general manager of this football team. The fact they made the playoffs in their first season with Dave Gettleman’s roster is very telling. The Giants must start all over with a new head coach, general manager, and quarterback in 2025.
