The New York Jets are going to be moving on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason. Rodgers is 41 years old and he is looking to find a new home for next season or maybe potentially retire from the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers was with the Jets for two seasons and they did not make the playoffs either season. New York will have the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. There is a chance that the Jets could draft a quarterback in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Pro Football Talk writer Mike Florio talked about what he has been hearing this week during the NFL scouting combine. On Wednesday, Florio said on his Twitter page:

“Juiciest rumor from the Combine, so far . . . Aaron Rodgers has reached out to the Giants. Which, if true, suggests he’s not getting much if any interest from contenders like the Steelers.”

This is very interesting news. Does Rodgers not want to leave the New York tri-state area? The New York Giants are looking for a bridge quarterback next season. This would be a much better option financially for the Giants rather than trading for Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams.

Last season with the New York Jets, Rodgers completed 63.0% of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. It would be an interesting move for the New York Giants if they signed the former Green Bay Packers quarterback this offseason.

He is washed up, let it go already!

In what world are the Steelers “contenders”?

NY low key has a good WR room already, they have money to burn and should come away with at least one of the top o-linemen in FA, and could add yet another starter in the draft. That offense w/ a quality o-line and AR could turn things around quickly.

Can you imagine Aaron Rodgers playing for the Giants? He couldn’t make it work on a very talented Jets team. The Giants don’t even have as much talent as the Jets did when he arrived there. Aaron should just retire at this point. He’s had an incredible Hall of Fame career.

Why doesnt he just hand it up if he has to resort to teams like the Giants? Seems he is more interested in his stats or a MVP than winning a SB.

    — Bolt⚡Jolt (@Boltjolt) February 26, 2025

There will be other suitors for Aaron Rodgers, but the market may not be as hot for him as some might think. If he does sign with the New York Giants who finished with a 3-14 record last season, Rodgers will be the starter next season, but he will be helping them develop the next franchise quarterback if they take one in the 2025 NFL Draft.
