The New York Giants have not seen the success they were hoping for in 2023. Part of the issue has been injuries to key players. Daniel Jones has missed significant time and last week, Tommy Devito had to take snaps at quarterback. Ahead of week 9, the Giants have placed two key players, Darren Waller and Tyrod Taylor on IR.

New York Giants Place Darren Waller and Tyrod Taylor On IR
Waller was one of the big offseason additions and his season has gone like so many others. His potential talent is great but he cannot stay on the field. This time, it is a hamstring injury that is putting the star tight end out for the next four games. Taylor’s absence may or may not be a big deal. If Jones can stay healthy, there isn’t a need for a solid backup quarterback. If Devito has to play again, Taylor’s presence will be missed. It is another blow to a season full of them.
Where Do The Giants Go From Here?
The Giants will in all likelihood be picking at the top of the draft. They should go out and get a premium skill position player. The team committed to Jones with a big contract. Getting him a premium skill position player would help the offense a lot. They tried to bring in Waller to be the big-name target but his inability to stay on the field means there is little to no impact. The Giants need a go-to target.
The team will have to make do with Waller and Taylor for the next four games. As they try to salvage the rest of 2023, this will give them an opportunity to see what they have in some young players.
