The New Orleans Saints are waiting on Michael Thomas to heal
The New Orleans Saints went out this offseason to elevate their passing game. They signed top quarterback free agent Derek Carr in a bid to try and win a weak NFC South division this season. The Saints hope Carr and All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas will be a lethal combination next season. But they’re waiting on Thomas to heal from a toe injury that had him on injured reserve at the end of last season.

According to the Saints’ website, head coach Dennis Allen provided an update on Thomas’ recovery at the League Annual Meeting. Allen said he’s not fully recovered yet:
“I don’t want to get into specifics on that, but yet, he’s making progress in the recovery,” Allen said. “He’s not 100 percent, and we’re going to be cautious with it and take our time. We don’t want to put him out there until he’s 100 percent.”
It’s currently questionable if Thomas can fully participate in offseason workouts. However, Thomas still has plenty of time to rehab before training camp later this summer.
