The New Orleans Saints sign a quarterback
The New Orleans Saints are making moves for a chance to win next season. The Saints are in the NFL’s worst division entering 2023. The team knew they needed a quarterback to help turn the team around. They signed a veteran quarterback with recent Pro Bowl credentials to a long-term deal after he was benched by his former team at the end of last season.
According to the NFL Network, the Saints signed Derek Carr to a four-year deal.

New Orleans will still need to work a little mathematical magic, as according to Over The Cap, the Saints are over $18 million in the red as of Monday morning before they signed Carr.
Carr was considered one of the top quarterback free agency prizes in the NFL this offseason. Carr was courted by Carolina Panthers and the New York Jets this offseason during the NFL Scouting Combine. The Jets chose not to be overly aggressive on Carr, as the team was waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make his decision on playing next season and agreeing to a trade.
