New Orleans Saints Expected to Blow It All Up Before Trade Deadline

At this point in the offseason, there’s a lot of excitement about the New Orleans Saints‘ prospects for 2024. Then again, this has been the case every year for this team, and season after season, the fans have unfortunately been left utterly disappointed.

Right now, the front office seems confident in the group they currently have. This could change quickly, though, if the Saints have another slow start to the season.

In a recent bold predictions list curated by Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report, the NFL analyst listed the Saints as one of the teams he expects to make some landscape-shifting moves before the trade deadline in November.

Gagnon does not believe, however, that the Saints would be in a position to try and fortify their roster ahead of a playoff push. It’s actually quite the opposite:

“If they’re out of the picture by the end of October, I’d expect Mickey Loomis and Co. to make guys like Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara, Cameron Jordan, Ryan Ramczyk and Marshon Lattimore available.

“From there, they’d tank for a high pick for the first time in decades as they finally accept that this window has to close,” Gagnon wrote.

According to Gagnon, New Orleans has been in football purgatory for quite some time now as they refuse to accept the fact that they just aren’t going to achieve ultimate success with their current core.

For all we know, this could be their year, and this prediction could be completely wrong. Then again, recent history tells us that there’s a bigger chance that the Saints decide to blow it all up than for them to win a Super Bowl this year.
