The New Orleans Saints are signing a Louisiana local ahead of their 2024 training camp next month. The New Orleans native will get a second chance in the NFL with his hometown team after being released from the Las Vegas Raiders last season following an arrest last season.
The Saints are restructuring their 90-man roster from OTAs so they can have better competition during training camp.

The Los Angeles Chargers signed Teamer as an undrafted free agent in 2019. At 27, he’s played for the Indianapolis Colts and Raiders. The five-foot-ten, 187-pound safety has appeared in 40 games and started in 11 games. He’s recorded 103 total tackles and intercepted one pass.
Roderic Teamer was arrested during the 2023 season
Per 8 News Now, Teamer was arrested on alleged charges of DUI and basic speeding violation for going 21-30 mph over the posted limit in November:
Nevada State Police Highway Patrol arrested former Las Vegas Raider Roderic Teamer after he allegedly drove over 90 mph while under the influence of marijuana, according to a declaration of arrest.
On Nov. 25 around 10:15 p.m., an Metro officer participating in a DUI Blitz observed a Dodge Durango driving about 91 mph in a 65 mph zone on the 215 near Jones Boulevard.
Teamer admitted to police that he had consumed marijuana earlier in the day, but said he did not smoke in the vehicle prior to the traffic stop.
The Raiders released Teamer following the arrest
The Raiders announced the next day they would be releasing Teamer. As previously discussed on GH, head coach Antonio Pierce said Teamer’s situation was something players on the Raiders roster could learn from:
“Whatever you do on and off the field affects the decision that’s going to be made in this building, and we’re going to do the best to protect the brand, the shield and the Raiders organization,” said Pierce.
Teamer will get another chance in the NFL from the Saints during training camp.
