The New England Patriots sign an offensive lineman
The New England Patriots signed an offensive lineman a few days before free agency. The Patriots are trying to get a few high-profile contracts done before the start of free agency on Match 15, including cornerback Jonathan Jones. But the team will have a veteran offensive lineman back in New England for the 2023 season.
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Patriots re-signed James Ferentz to a one-year contract for the 2023 season. He will have $200,000 in guaranteed money.

The Patriots still have much work to do this offseason to improve their roster after falling short of the playoffs last season. This signing won’t elevate the team much but will bring stability to the offense. Ferentz was an undrafted free agent signed by the Houston Texans in 2014. He spent time with the Denver Broncos before the Patriots signed him in 2017. Ferentz has been with the Patriots since 2017 and has won two Super Bowls as a member of New England.
