The New England Patriots are back in the Brandon Aiyuk running again, and they may not have ever left the race. The situation with the San Francisco 49ers and Brandon could be nearing a resolution sooner rather than later.

In addition to the Patriots the Cleveland Browns are also making a huge push to trade for Aiyuk.

2 New NFL Teams Are Getting Close To A Deal For Brandon Aiyuk

Trade rumors continue to spiral as they have all off season for the star receiver who is entering his final year under contract with the team. There is no deal done at the moment, but it appears the trade is coming down to two teams, both the Browns and Patriots.

The key in this situation, is that Aiyuk himself will have to agree to the deal, in addition to the 49ers. So any team creating a package for the star receiver will also need to pay him the big bucks. It appears that both Cleveland and New England are ready to do that, but Aiyuk has to be the one to accept the offer. It all comes down to where he wants to play long term.

Per NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco, the framework for both the Patriots and Browns are in place for the receiver. The team is ready to accept either of the deals, however Aiyuk has to agree to one of those team’s extension offers before the trade can be completed.

Trade Proposals From Both Teams For Brandon Aiyuk

The exact proposals for each team is still unclear but the base package is now known for each of these teams. The question that is looming is will Aiyuk want to start his next chapter with either of them.

In the same report, Maiocco said that San Francisco would be receiving a veteran receiver as well as a draft pick from either of the teams if they get a deal done.

The Patriots are reportedly including Kendrick Bourne and a draft pick and per Mary Kay Cabot’s previous report that the Browns trade would include veteran star Amari Cooper and a draft pick. It appears the the 49ers would be interested in getting either of these deals done, and that everyone is just waiting on Aiyuk’s acceptance and preference.

In addition to both of those teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been in and out of the trade rumors for Aiyuk. Recently they were reported to be out but just an hour ago, they are now supposedly back in per Adam Schefter.

Aiyuk is a star in the game and his impact changes the entirety of the offense. We have not seen as much movement from the best receivers in the game in recent memory, so this trade is taking quite a long time to get done. All signs are pointing to a trade getting it is juts a matter of who and at what time.

The star receiver totaled 1,347 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last season, one of his best seasons as a starter in the NFL. While he was given the okay to try to work out a deal with the Washington Commanders, that is reportedly no longer a conversation even.

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Aiyuk is more likely to get traded than sign an extension with the 49ers.  The star receiver has not been at camp, and all signs are pointing to him playing elsewhere this season.

There is a slight chance that he could remain with the 49ers per Maiocco, but he has not had any talks with the team in months. It is much more likely that he gets a deal done with one of these teams very soon.
