The Pittsburgh Steelers are going into the 2024 season with expectations all over the place. While some analysts think Russell Wilson could propel Pittsburgh into the playoffs, others think that his best days are still behind him.
The Steelers want to do whatever they can to field competitive roster around Wilson, however, there is one trade that they won’t be entertaining.
The Pittsburgh Steelers Back Out Of Significant Trade
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Adam Schefter does not expect the Steelers will trade for WR Brandon Aiyuk “at all”:
“I don’t expect Pittsburgh to be a landing spot at all…”

There is no doubt that Pittsburgh is going to play host to the NFL’s most interesting quarterback competition of the 2024 season. Unlike the Steelers in previous years, they were uncharacteristically pro-active in reshaping the position this offseason, and it is understandable why they did so.
There is no Kenny Pickett any more, the first-round pick dumped by the Steelers because of undercooked protection and staffing at the team. He will be replaced by Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, two of the most accomplished free agent quarterbacks in 2024.
For the immediate future, whoever takes over as QB1 will have these wide receivers to work with:
George Pickens | Calvin Austin III | Dez Fitzpatrick | Jaray Jenkins |
Van Jefferson | Quez Watkins | Duece Watts | Tarik Black |
Roman Wilson Q | Scotty Miller | Jacob Copeland |
