New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has been in a lot of rumors regarding his job security with the team after the end of this season. Some speculations by analysts have him moving on from the Patriots next year, and even naming potential candidates to sign the long-time head coach. It looks like Belichick will finish coaching through the rest of this season, however, a report has come out that New England will be moving on from him right after the season’s end.

Bill Belichick
According to the report, the team was ready to move on from Belichick right after the team took a loss back in week 10 to the Indianapolis Colts in Germany. Patriots insider Tom Curran shared his conversations within the organization about the decision.
When they came out of the loss in Germany, conversations I had that week made it very clear that a decision was made. They were going to play out the string, and at the end of the year, there would be a parting of the ways for a variety of reasons.
New England Patriots Moving On
Curran also noted that an in-season firing was highly unlikely, and Belichick still remains a key piece that the team could deal away. Once the head coach does hit the market in the offseason, the team will do its best to get the biggest bang for their buck. Curran also claims that Belichick is beyond the point of saving his job in New England once the 2023 season comes to an end.
The Patriots are the worst team in the AFC Conference, which is why the team is planning to move on from their long-time head coach. Given his history of winning, many teams are destined to be heavily interested in him once he becomes available to trade. It will be interesting if teams that are in desperate need of a new head coach like the Los Angeles Chargers and the Washington Commanders make any pursuit of Belichick.
