The Washington Commanders‘ fanbase is calling for the firing of their head coach Ron Rivera following their loss to the struggling New York Giants on Sunday by a score of 14-7. It looked like quarterback Sam Howell had a tough outing, but all the blame seems to be directed at Rivera. As a result, fans all over Twitter are calling for their coach to be let go by the team.

If Ron Rivera isn’t fired, my assumption is that Josh Harris is a clown too. ZERO reason to keep him as our Head Coach

Ron Rivera
Rivera has not had a winning season in the NFL since 2017 when he coached the Carolina Panthers to an 11-5 record. Somehow, he has remained a head coach in the league, but that may not last much longer after this week’s horrific loss. As you can see above, Commanders fans have had enough of Rivera as their head coach, and have been for a good amount of time.
In his coaching career since 2011, he has amounted to 101 wins and 94 losses for an overall winning percentage of .518. He made the Super Bowl one time back in 2015 with Carolina but lost to the Denver Broncos 24-10. Since then, he has not lived up to the expectations that fans and analysts have for him.
Head Coaches on the Hot Seat
Multiple head coaches are on the hot seat this year, including Los Angeles Chargers‘ Brandon Staley and Las Vegas Raiders’ Josh McDaniels. However, the hot seat for Rivera seems to be coming to a boil at the moment, and it would not be a surprise if he is let go before the end of the season.
