The Cleveland Browns really need to have a good season in 2022. They have a good team on paper, but they have a few question marks around the team. But, the Browns really need a good season from this quarterback.
The Cleveland Browns Need a Good Season From Jacoby Brissett
The Browns starting quarterback in week one will most likely be Jacoby Brissett. It was reported that the Browns may consider someone like Jimmy Garopplo if Watson’s suspension increases. But, they’re going to wait and see what happens for now.

No matter what happens, Brissett has to perform well while Watson is gone. But, Brissett is ready to embrace the “next man up” mentality.
“Since I’ve been in this league it’s been the next man up. That was the case my rookie year, so that experience helps with not only the playing but with the mindset of understanding that you’ve got to be ready whenever your number is called.”
The Browns also seem to have high hopes for Brissett this season, especially Kevin Stefanski.
“He’s been in some different positions already in his young career. He has a very good way about him. Very, very intelligent. Very good leader. Has the ability to make plays on the practice field, help in the meeting room. Be accountable throughout the weight room. He just does all the right things.”
We haven’t seen much of Jacoby Brissett except for some plays during training camp, but hopefully, he can live up to what Kevin Stefanski is saying.
But what is an interesting decision by the Browns is that they are not starting Jacoby Brissett in their first pre-season game. Instead, they are giving the starting job to Deshaun Watson, who won’t even be able to play in the regular season.
You would think it would be better to start Brissett so he can get comfortable with his offense, but the Browns don’t think so. We can expect him to get some playing time, though.
